Éclair Bakery NYC: A French Pastry Gem in Midtown East
While walking through Midtown East in Manhattan, I stumbled upon a charming French café — Éclair Bakery. Sometimes after a long day, all you want is something sweet to recharge. That’s how I discovered this spot, and I have to say: the tiramisu here was absolutely delicious.

If you love elegant French-style desserts in New York, this is a must-visit!
Inside Éclair Bakery

The café interior is warm and inviting. There’s a counter facing the wall that makes it easy to stop by even if you’re alone, plus about six cozy tables for those who want to sit longer.
What makes it special is the large mural of the Seine River in Paris decorating the wall. It instantly gives you a little taste of Paris while sipping your coffee.
Beautifully Presented French Sweets
Éclair Bakery is filled with adorable, artistic desserts. From colorful tarts to delicate pastries, everything looks as good as it tastes.
Some highlights:
- Raspberry Tart – A feast for the eyes and loaded with fresh fruit.
- Birthday & Event Cakes – Elegant designs that are perfect for special occasions.
I’ll share more pictures of their smaller cakes and café treats in my next post.
What I Ordered
I went with a caffè latte and, of course, the famous tiramisu.

Unlike Italian-style tiramisu, which often has a strong rum-soaked sponge, Éclair Bakery’s version is lighter, creamier, and closer to a crème brûlée texture. Personally, I preferred this French twist — smooth, balanced, and not overly boozy. It was heavenly.
Even the coffee cups were charming, adding to the overall experience.
A French-Style Dessert Haven in NYC

In New York, I usually get cakes from Lady M (famous for mille crêpes) or HARBS (a Japanese cake shop known for cheesecakes). I also have fond memories of Caffè Beniero in the Lower East Side and tiramisu in Little Italy — usually richer with rum-soaked layers.
But Éclair Bakery brings a distinctly French flair. Their pastries are light, creamy, and elegantly decorated. I’ve already added it to my list of go-to places for birthday cakes and special occasions.
Location & Access
Éclair Bakery is located in Midtown East, not far from the Gyu-Kaku Midtown branch I introduced earlier.
Nearest subway: Take the 6, E, or M line to 53rd Street Station — it’s just a short walk from there.
Wi-Fi available: A great spot for remote work or studying, with both counter and table seating.

Birthday Cakes Too
I also bought a chocolate mousse cake here for a neighbor’s birthday. It was rich, decadent, and beautifully designed — elegant enough for an adult celebration.

Final Thoughts
Whether you’re craving a quick sweet treat after work, looking for a cozy café with Wi-Fi, or planning a special cake for an event, Éclair Bakery in Midtown East is a fantastic choice. Their French-style desserts, especially the tiramisu, are truly unforgettable.
